This is one of my favourite pieces that I’ve done for my visual art diary. We were given directions to make several collages in the cubist style that we had been using in class. I was looking around my house for inspiration and found Lizzy crouched down under the coffee table. I quickly sketched her from 3 different angles before she moved, but not before several dirty looks were shot my way. It’s Lizzy’s style.
This is the only collage I have finished so far. Next week is mid semester break and I plan to finish off my artworks. It should be really fun.
Acrylic on Canvas. We’re working with vibrant colours this week.
Thursday which is my favourite day at uni. Thursday is Drawing and Painting day. Its a fun class, we’ve been doing a bit of everything. Its really good to get back to basics. I love it and our teacher Sonia is the best.
Today we were working with acrylic paints, we learnt how to mix black. After some playing around with different techniques on how to paint and mix colours we began work on a still life.
Somehow whenever I draw/paint skulls they look rather comical. Keep in mind this is a work in progress. I’ll try finish the painting over the weekend and hopefully once I add more shadows and detail it will look less like a funny floating skull.
